Hi -
Looking for some help..........I eat clean, low carb, about 1500 calories a day. I have a good lifting regimen of 5 days a week and i have cut my cardio down to 20-40 minutes 5 days a week. i can't lose fat (or weight for that matter) for the life of me. I am so ready to throw in the towel, but it isn't in my nature to give up. Any thoughts? My bodyspace name is Determined30.

Thanks!

Kate

from the photos up on your bodyspace especially the most recent one it seems, that you are in good shape!
anyway the reason why i think u have stopped losing weight is becuase of a plateu. your body gets is now use to it, im not an expert on plateu but u should research it becuase i am most certain thats whats happened to ur fat loss. anyway to fix the problem, i suggest you start to add in some HIIT and either confuse your body for 3 days.. with 3-5 high carbs days. also keep in mind these 3-5 days will give u more energey, coonfuse your body, and also be quite anabolic.
hope this helps
maybe some of the more experienced trainers can give thier thoughts!

wow kate you made some great changes in your body, you look really good, nice job!!!
ok now have you changed your diet at all or are you taking in the same as when you started getting into the training, since looking at your pictures it is very apparent you have lost bodyfat while adding some muscle, which may require you to change up your diet , maybe post what your taking in for your daily intake of protein and carbs/ fats and your total calories, perhaps your are not taking in enough during the day and have come to a stand still in your progress, by no means should you throw in the towel,, you look awesome!!!

Thanks Mike, you just made my day! you really notice a difference? thanks for the support :-) I have been working so hard, but I guess I don't notice the changes for as much as i have been doing. I basically have been trying to keep my carbs under 70 grams and I have bumped up my protein to about 4-5 oz of a lean protein or whey every 3 hrs. In terms of fat, I get that in almonds, olive oil, natural peanut butter. I have tried to get my good carbs in around my workouts. I aim at 1400 - 1500 calories a day. My workouts have changed some - I used to do a lot more cardio, now i do 20-40 minutes after my weight lifting or after work. I have started incorporating HIIT as well. I tend to be the type that undereats instead of overeating. Maybe my body just hasn't caught on yet? Does it take a little time?

Feeling much better today and pumped to push through this and make things happen.

I hope you had a good day :-)

are you kidding,,, yea i noticed the changes in your pics,,, hell yea,, very nice girl!!

OK, if your only at 70 grams of carbs a day , and that is working i would say to stick with it, as well your protein intake should be closer to 1.3 grams per pound of bodyweight on a low calorie diet,, so take your bodyweight and x that by 1.3 and it should give you what your protein intake should be on a cut diet.. and its a absolute MUST that you stay consistent with your meals through out the day,, 2-3 hours apart with the end of the day being a lower intake of carbs,, also are you eating any protein before bed?? such as cottage cheese or a casein protein powder?? if not you will want to do that since it supplies your body with protein that is slow digesting , it will supply your body with the nutrients that it needs and will actually help your metabolism since your body is digesting this intake while your sleeping,, other wise it looks like you have a real good handle on your diet,, just may need these few tweaks, and remember the fat loss also will become harder to loose the lower you get, which is why you may need to change up your diet a bit.. anyway,, let me know if i can add any more help..
good job kate!!
