I am encountering an issue with the issue that I am not able to life both the weights equally from both sides of my body!
For instance, with dumbell curls .I can do full sets of 10-12 with 20 lbs on the left side and On the right side i may only be able to do 6-7.
So my question is should i continue to use the 40 with lower reps on the right side, of use a 40 in the left and lower the right to 35 so i can get the full 12 reps?
Also, what could have caused this diffrence in strength !
its all strange because I am right handed , shouldn't it be stronger ?

In my opinion, It's best to have equal strength in case you're lifting something heavy, and one arm can't carry the weight, or if it falls, etc.
Increase the weight on the arm that has less strength and when both your arms can lift the same weights, you can even it out.

It really depends mate. If you are right handed but are in a job where yu constantly use your left arm more then it becomes dominant. Also if you;ve ever broken your right arm then it wil be naturally weaker. I would suggest stop doing weights with your left arm altogether unless you want one arm to be noticably biger than the other. I had to recently change my exercise to make both my arms equally strong as I broke my left a few times and was always feeling it to push those last couple out.
What I did was both arms at the same time. And as soon as my left arm couldn't do any more I'd stop both arms. I'd then do the same curls in a chair and once my left arm couldn't do any more I'd stop. Now they are both the same and I stop when I feel it in both arms.
I was talking with mike40+ in another thread about the 7 technique. I imagine this could also be used to correct you right arms weakness. Do the same curls in the left arm and then in the right arm do the 7 lower part then 7 uper and then 7 full motions.
Ay of these techniques would work and it may even be worth dropping down a few weight sizes until the right can do a lower weight at the same number of reps and then build it back up. Sometimes you push too hard and it just does nothing for the muscle, try dropping down and see if it makes any difference.

we all have a dominate side of our bodys, you need to focus on your other exercises you do also so that your using the same motion while moving where one side is not moving faster then the other, such as a lateral pull down, if one side of you body is pulling the bar where its uneven focus on the bar coming down the same on both side,
now if your dumbbell curls are weaker on your other side, dont continue to use a weight that your stronger side can do for more reps, keep working the weaker side until it catches up to the same reps and weight as your stronger side, so use the same weight for both arms, your stronger side will not loose strength or size and will allow your weaker side to catch up, do this with all exercises that one side is more dominate than the other,

I had a problem like this when i first started out.
A few things i did was instead of standing i started to sit in a chair(or stand flat against a wall). When you stand it's easier for you to lean to one side and cheat. Always concentrate on your form it's a must. I would also do preacher curls focusing on each arm specifically so i concentrate solely on each arm as an individual.
chin ups helped me to, you have to lift your whole body at the same time so cheating one arm is pretty hard.
