Hey hows it goin? I use a powder called Muscle Milk, it's got a good taste to it and it works great. If you're looking to really bulk up they just release a new version called Monster Milk.

i agree optimum nutrition gold whey is a great protein,
also if your looking for a real good tasting powder, bsn has their syntha-6, awesome taste and its got a mix of proteins, both fast and slow digesting which makes it a great pre workout drink taken about 1-2 hours prior to training and then if you need a night time bed drink its perfect for the night time, with its slower digesting protein

Do you guys think Syntha or optimum nutrition gold standard whey is better? What do you look for in a protein shake?

the syntha-6 is a good preworkout shake / its also a good before bed time shake since it has both slow digesting and fast digesting protein mix, you want a slower releasing protein before bed, such as cottage cheese. or casein protein power, the Whey if a fast digesting protein which is best used as the first protein source of the morning on waking, since it will get into your system faster, which is what your body is needed after the night of sleep and no foods, it is absorbed rapidly therefor getting into the muscles where its needed,, the second most important time would be directly after your workout, you have a 30. min window after you are done exercising to get the protein and simple carbs in for the insulin spike from the simple carbs.. such as dextrose/ or waxy maize, or glyco-maize,, however the dextrose blows away the waxy maize in terms of the level of insulin spike in the blood sugar,, so its best used only post work out, with in 1 hour after that you would eat a regular meal of protein/ complex carbs/ and veggies.
